Mother: Mahala BARTER (abt 1871 - 29 December 1940)

Milton was educated at Camden Public School. The family lived in Argyle Street Camden. He was apprenticed to J. Pinkerton for four years.

His occupation was Tailor when he enlisted in September 1914 at Sydney and served in the 3rd Battalion A.I.F. He served in the Citizen Forces for two years prior to enlistment. and departed Sydney on the 'Euripides' 20 October 1914.

Bugler Milton Frank THORNTON was killed in action at Gallipoli Turkey on 19 May 1915 age 20.
